Ukraine lost to Belgium in their opening match of the 2025 World Championship
The Ukrainian men’s national volleyball team started the 2025 World Championship in the Philippines with a defeat.

In their first group-stage match, Raúl Lozano’s squad lost 0:3 to Belgium.
From the very beginning, the Belgians imposed a high pace and dominated in key aspects. The top scorer of the match was Belgium’s opposite Ferre Reggers, who scored 23 points. For Ukraine, opposite Vasyl Tupchii led the way with 13 points.
Belgium outperformed their opponents at the net (10 blocks vs. 5) and from the service line (6 aces vs. 4). The Ukrainian team also committed more unforced errors, which further influenced the final result.
