On Wednesday, July 16, the Ukrainian men's national volleyball team played its ninth match in the 2025 Nations League.
Their opponent was the Netherlands, and the match took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Before this game, Ukraine was in 6th place in the overall standings, while the Netherlands sat at 17th place.
Despite the gap in the rankings, fans witnessed a true five-set thriller, in which our team managed to turn the tide and claim an important victory – 3:2.
After a successful start in the first set, Raúl Lozano's players lost momentum in the next two, but they showed character, regrouped, and fought their way back in the fourth set. The decisive rallies proved crucial — the players displayed composure, fighting spirit, and incredible determination to win (26:24). In the deciding fifth set, Ukraine gave everything to stop their opponents.
