Ukraine claims first victory at the 2025 World Championship
The Ukrainian men’s national volleyball team secured their first win at the 2025 World Championship, taking place in the Philippines.

In their second group stage match, Raúl Lozano’s squad left Algeria no chance – 3:0.
From the very first rallies, Ukraine took full control of the game and never allowed their opponents to find rhythm. In the second set, the “blue and yellow” essentially sealed the outcome by the midway point, while in the third they produced an astonishing 13:1 run, which completely broke Algeria’s resistance.

This victory restored Ukraine’s confidence after their opening loss to Belgium and kept alive their chances of reaching the playoffs.
