The Ukrainian men’s national volleyball team played its tenth match in the 2025 Nations League.
In Ljubljana (Slovenia),Raúl Lozano’s team faced the Italian national team – the reigning world champions. Despite the opponent’s status, the Ukrainians forced the favorites to go the full distance, losing only in the tie-break – 2:3.
The start of the match was not in our team’s favor – Italy confidently took the first two sets. However, in the third set the Ukrainians regrouped and showed their best game, leaving no chance for their opponents – 25:16. The fourth set was even more intense, with Ukraine managing to finish off the favorites at the end – 25:23. In the tie-break, the Italians still managed to tip the scales in their favor – 15:10.

This match was another confirmation of the progress of the Ukrainian national team — the team is not afraid to fight even against the strongest and gains important points in the Nations League standings without losing points in the world ranking.
The next match Ukraine will play on Friday, July 18. The opponent will be the Serbian national team — a team that currently ranks last, 18th place, in the 2025 Nations League standings. The match will start at 17:30.
