The Men’s Volleyball World Championship in the Philippines is entering its decisive stage – only four teams remain in the fight for medals.
The semifinals will be played on Saturday, September 27:
09:30 – 🇨🇿 Czech Republic vs Bulgaria 🇧🇬
13:30 – 🇵🇱 Poland vs Italy 🇮🇹
Czechia and Bulgaria have been the biggest surprises of the tournament, advancing to the top four after victories over Iran and the USA, respectively. For the Czechs, this marks their first-ever World Championship semifinal as an independent nation, while Bulgaria has equaled its best result since 2006.
The second semifinal features two volleyball powerhouses. Poland and Italy have faced each other many times on major international stages. This clash will decide who reaches the final. Italy is defending its title, while Poland aims to reclaim the world crown.
These two teams also met in the final of the previous World Championship and in this year’s Nations League final.
