Brazil Defeats China in the Nations League Quarterfinals

In the second quarterfinal match of the 2025 Men’s Volleyball Nations League, Brazil claimed a 3–1 victory over host nation China.

The opening set was a real shocker – the hosts, who finished only 17th in the group stage, stunned the favorites by winning 31–29. China completely outplayed Brazil at the net (6–0 in blocks in the first set) and took advantage of the opponent’s early nerves.

However, Brazil soon proved why they are one of the main contenders for the title. The team, which had won 11 out of 12 matches in the group stage, confidently took the next three sets.

The top scorer of the match was Brazilian opposite hitter Alan Souza, who tallied 25 points with a 57% attack efficiency. His strong offensive performance left no doubt about the outcome.
