The Round of 16 stage of the 2025 Volleyball World Championship has concluded, and all quarterfinal participants are now known.
Eight of the tournament’s strongest teams will compete for a spot in the semifinals.
Quarterfinal matchups:
🇮🇹 Italy – 🇧🇪 Belgium
🇵🇱 Poland – 🇹🇷 Turkey
🇨🇿 Czech Republic – 🇮🇷 Iran
🇺🇸 USA – 🇧🇬 Bulgaria
The matches will be played on September 24 and 25.
For the Czech Republic, this is a historic achievement – the team has reached the top 8 of the World Championship for the first time. Iran will try to surpass its best result – sixth place at the 2014 World Championship.
Defending world champions Italy will face Belgium, who sensationally defeated the “Squadra Azzurra” 3–2 in the group stage. Poland, the current vice world champion, European champion and winner of the 2025 Nations League, will meet Turkey. The USA will aim to assert their dominance against Bulgaria.
Fans can expect thrilling encounters, as the winners of these matches will form the semifinal lineup of the world’s top four teams.
